QWhat is MyDiet™?
AMyDiet™ is an online, personalized weight control program.  Designed with your needs in mind, MyDiet™ is your daily partner in diet, fitness and healthy living!
 
QIs MyDiet™ right for me?
AYes! MyDiet™ is right for you because it has been developed following the standards of the American Dietetic Association (ADA) regarding the characteristics of a healthy diet. MyDiet™ makes sense for anyone who wishes to lose, gain or maintain their weight, and also for those who are seeking ways to stay healthy and physically fit. 
 
QHow does MyDiet™ work?
A
  1. Based on what you answered about your food intake, eating habits and physical activity levels, the program will assign you a daily level of calories that takes into account your weight control goals.
  2. You will be given a Menu Plan based on the level of calories you should be consuming for the entire week, which includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. You may replace any food or menu for another one of the same nutritional value.
  3. You´ll also design your own Exercise Plan, write your Journal and learn about a healthy lifestyle by reading hundreds of articles and healthtips as well as by preparing delicious healthy meals with our recipes.

Diet and Fitness Evaluation and Menus

QWhat does the Diet and Fitness Evaluation include?
AThe Diet and Fitness Evaluation is comprised of three fundamental elements:

  1. Analysis of your current dietary patterns, which will allow you to see which foods you're eating based on the recommended amounts, which foods you're consuming less than you should, and which you're consuming more than you should.
  2. Analysis of your level of physical activity.
  3. Analysis of your eating behaviors.
 
QHow does the Diet and Fitness Evaluation help me?

A personalized evaluation allows you to:

  1. Identify the specific dietary and physical activity habits that you should change as well as those that don´t need to be modified.
  2. Define the program and level of exercise best suited to reach your goals.
  3. Learn which dietary habits are contributing for your current weight problem.

 

 
QWhat is the difference between MyDiet™ and other traditional diets?

MyDiet™ is not a list of foods that forbids what we like and encourages us to eat what we don't like. MyDiet™ is an instrument to achieve and maintain health through nutrition and physical activity, taking into account the likes and dislikes of each person.

What sets MyDiet™ apart from traditional diets is that it promotes behavioral changes, respecting your likes and motivating you to eat a healthy diet, increase your physical activity and follow a healthy lifestyle.

QHow often, and where, can I access my menus?

If you join MyDiet, you'll always have access to your Menu Plans via your computer. Just by logging on and selecting My Daily Plan, you will see what foods you need to eat and how much exercise you should do each day. You can also view your plan for the entire week by selecting My Weekly Plan.

 
QWhat options do I have if I don't like any of the recommended foods?
A

Very simple. Just click on the food you wish to substitute and select among the many alternatives, all of which have approximately the same nutritional value.

 

 
QI don't have time to cook or I don't like to cook. How can I follow the program without cooking everyday?
AMyDiet also offers menu options that are simple to prepare! You may choose among these. The program also includes the option to select frozen dishes for those who occasionally microwave a meal for lunch or dinner.

No. MyDiet™ has been designed to help you manage any weight-control problems, whether you want to lose, gain or maintain your current weight or eat healthy.

 
QWill MyDiet help me with an exercise plan?
A

Yes. MyDiet will allow you to live a healthy lifestyle by eating healthy and increasing your physical activity.  That's why we motivate you to design and follow your own Exercise Plan.

 
QWhy have I started gaining weight again?
A

Some people gain some weight back after a successful period of weight loss. Do not be discouraged. If you stick with your resolution to improve your eating and fitness habits, you will reach your goals over time. Keep in mind that even a small change in your workout routine can be beneficial. For example, doing sprints along with your aerobic exercises or training with weights will help your body burn more calories. 

 
QDo you have any diets for people with diabetes?

Yes. The MyDiet program helps people with diabetes since the best way to control diabetes is by adopting a lifestyle that includes a balanced diet, exercise, and the use of insulin and pills in some cases. Besides, we have several articles about proper diabetes control.

 
QCan pregnant women go on a weight loss diet?
A

No. Pregnancy is not a period for losing weight. Pregnant women must follow a healthy diet in order to gain the right amount of weight to help the baby grow. They must control their weight gain to avoid the development of health problems like gestational diabetes or hypertension. MyDiet™ can help pregnant moms maintain their health before, during and after their pregnancy through proper nutrition and physical activity, while taking into account their likes and dislikes.

 
QCan breastfeeding moms go on a weight loss diet?
A

No. Breastfeeding moms should not go on a weight loss diet because they must eat a healthy diet with enough calories to produce the milk the baby needs. However MyDiet™ can help you eat the righ amount of food you need for your breastfeeding period and will help you to lose weight when you stop breastfeeding.

 
QIs it safe for children to go on a weight loss diet?
A

Children must not follow restrictive diets or weight loss diets unless the directed supervision of a pediatrician. The best thing to do is to set a good example for them by:

  1. Eating healthy at home by avoiding fried foods, pastries, sodas and candy,
  2. Helping them increase their physical activity such as encouraging them to participate in a sport and
  3. Reducing the time they spend watching television or on the computer.
 
QDo you recommend pills to lose weight?
AIn MyDiet we only use natural pills that are a complement of your diet and fitness porgram.
 
QCan I lose weight quickly with MyDiet?
A

Any diet that produces a quick weight loss and that doesn´t involve modifiying your eating habits will make you gain your weight back. With MyDiet you may lose 2 to 3 pounds a week safely.
